Glenaire Retirement Community is proud to present the fourth annual Glenaire 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run on Saturday, March 28, 2020. The race will start
finish at the Community located at 5000 Glenhope Court in Cary. The 5k starts at 9 am and the 1-Mile starts at 9:10 am.
Most race entries include a swag bag, t-shirt, and pint glass. Food, beer, other beverages and entertainment will be provided
There will be a bag check station available for personal items.
As a non-profit, Presbyterian-affiliated organization, Glenaire has never asked any residents to leave our community simply because they have
resources. In its 27 years, Glenaire has provided well over $5 million in financial assistance. In 2020, we expect to provide over $500,000 in
funds. 100% of race proceeds will support this cause.
All 5K participants will have the option to be timed, but recreational runners and walkers are welcome. Although all finishers will be able to see
time at the finish, only competive entrants will be eligible for awards.
The 5K entry fee is $30 increasing to $35 on race day.
The 1-Mile Fun Run fee is $20 with no late fee. Registered children under the age of 12 are free, but this does not include a t-shirt unless you choose to
T-shirts are guaranteed to all those who register by March 12th. After that date, they will be “as available”.
PACKET PICK UP AND SAME DAY REGISTRATION
Early packet pick up will be hosted by Jordan Lake Brewing Company located at 320 East Durham Road, Cary, NC 27513 on Thursday, March 26th, from 4:30
– 7 pm.
Same day packet pick up and registration will open at 7:30 am at the start/finish line.
This is a fast and rolling course through the neighborhoods near downtown Cary. It takes a short tour on the Higgins Greenway. It starts and
finishes at the
Glenaire Retirement Community. This course is certified by USA Track & Field. There will be two water stops on the course and each mile will be
well as the halfway point.
The 1-Mile walk will begin and end on the parking deck and will be an out-and-back course through the Community.
Awards for the 5K will be presented to the first three men overall, to the first three women overall and to the top three finishers in each of the
age divisions (both genders): 12-under, 13-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-and

the Second Empire
POST RACE PARTY
All participants are invited to join us after the race to enjoy music by DJ Gino and cold
Each participant 21 and older can enjoy a cold beer compliments of Jordan Lake Brewing Company. IDs required!!!
Runners who participate in races accumulate points and
are awarded money and prizes at an awards banquet held at the Second Empire Restaurant at the conclusion of the Series.
